RELAX DAD, YOU WILL MAKE ETERNITY!




One Yoruba proverb says “It is always the biggest masquerade that performs last”.

As an addendum to WHY THE DECEMBER TOPS THE BILL AS THE MONTH AFTER MY HEART - I mentioned that the number one reason is because 70% of the MOST influential people in my life were born in this special month (read it here:https://goo.gl/dngniY). Today is the turn of my beloved father (Yes, biological father and am blessed to be his first) as the Lord adds another year to him on this last day of the year. So I am closing my 2016 write up for ETERNITY REMINDERS BLOG (ERB) with the return of all honour and adoration unto the Lord for His faithfulness in the life of my dad! If it has not been the Lord God who was on his side, he will surely would have been consumed but blessed be the name of the Lord who has not given him as a prey to the enemies!


Aside the fact that he was a strict disciplinarian feared by all of us his children, for which we are all grateful today,  my other earliest childhood memories of my father is not particularly palatable, I must confess and it is hardly debatable he would have gone to the wrong side of eternity if he had continued following that path but thanks be unto the Lord who delivered him from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His dear son a little over 2 decades ago.  

I remembered clearly that he use to come drunk on most occasions while it is a culture that neighbors had to intervened once he starts his many troubles with mum.  Interestingly, he was an usher (see below) in a ‘church’, a very dedicated one for that matter, often leaving us and mum behind most times so he could arrive at his ‘duty post’ on time – “having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof”, (2 Tim. 3:5). He was only in ‘religion’ but NOT SAVED and outside eternity with God in heaven.

But today, he has not only found the true Christ, he is confirmed for ETERNITY, he is standing strong as an ordained elder in ‘a living church’, he is blessed and living in his own house,  and  his home of over 43 years is still standing to the glory of God. He has seen his children’s children and is still on course to see another generation if Jesus tarries.(Job 42:12).

 
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! I celebrate Christ in you, the hope of (your) glory (in eternity!). His grace shall keep you till eternity in Jesus name. Amen!

Apostle Timothy Oluwole Obadare went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2013 at the ripe age of 83. According to reports, he had been confined indoors for some years, but was said to have struggled to attend the March edition of the Koseunti Prayer meeting on March 1, 2013. He was brought to the church premises but could not come down from the car. When the news of his death came in, it dawned on the members that perhaps their leader had wanted to attend the meeting for the last time.[47] Apostle Timothy Obadare is survived by his wife, Elizabeth E.
