MY LAST CONFESSION FOR 2016...

I thought I was done with my confession series until I had a strong conviction in my spirit that "there remaineth" one more before 2016 ends. So here I go...

In the world of social media, likes, shares, re-tweets, and comments are considered strong indicators that your message is ‘hitting’ your audience so to speak. Getting comment(s), especially  is taking it to another level completely as you are seen to be engaging your audience adequately.

Even though I had conviction of the Lord, before starting this blog that this adventure is not going to be a piece of cake because of reasons enumerated then (read it here:https://goo.gl/lwE2XQ), I nevertheless set targets/goals  and still look forward to getting a reasonable amount of shares, likes as well as igniting conversation and receiving comments on the blog, especially against the background of the fact that I get between 70%-80% engagement on PERSONAL STUFFS! Interestingly, there is also a particular client that I started handling their social media platforms which also has the same, if not higher engagement. So, why not this Blog?, Why is it difficult to trigger consistent/ regular conversation on the subject of eternity? I ask myself from time to time.

This is because more than one year down the line, however, the targets set for ETERNITY REMINDERS is not anywhere hitting the targets, even when I have implemented close to 60-70% of what I have researched online to achieve the set objectives.  So, I keep asking myself "What else can I do to achieve these objectives?" The only consolation is that there has been a few commendations via what Sapp and sometimes when I came across a few people in social gatherings and most importantly the peace of God I had in my spirit that made me believe that the message is being received and appropriated irrespective of likes, shares, re-tweets or comments “for we walk by faith and not by sight”. While saying thanks to those who have publicly showed their 'support' and encouragement from time to time, I am convinced in my spirit, again, that there are a lot of 'secret' followers like Nicodemus, who are afraid to publicly show their support, even when they are convinced "No man doeth this thing except God is with him". So I cease from judging by sight henceforth. After all, I was justified to be a partaker of eternity with God by grace, the setting up of  this blog was not what put the me in eternity, neither will liking, sharing and commenting on the blog will put anyone in eternity.

What finally made me to resolve NOT TO LOOK FOR LIKES, SHARES and COMMENTS again is the word below, which I came across in one of the books written by my father in the Lord.

I was also greatly strengthened by another word I came across in a daily devotional by Pastor Femi Emmanuel last month. “If having everyone believe in every step you are about to take is the only prerequisite for success, you will go nowhere.  This is why you need the power of personal conviction about God’s direction … Being liked by everyone has never been a prerequisite for attaining godly and worthwhile success.  …, the issues you need to resolve in your mind are: is what I am doing or about doing instructed by God? Will it ultimately bring glory to God as it benefits humanity? Does it promote godliness? What specific human problem will this action solve? Is my proposed action of eternal value? If you can answer these questions and other similar ones in the affirmative, why not go ahead and keep doing it”. I CAN ANSWER POSITIVELY TO ALL AND HAVE RESOLVED (AGAIN!) TO GO AHEAD AND KEEP DOING THIS!

Another word by Biz Stone in his book – “Things a Little Bird Told Me” – also greatly encouraged me to keep doing this “…when you felt like “this is it”, your own epiphany, you continuously invest yourself into it emotionally …, What matters is that persistence, that girt, even when it looks like nobody is listening to or re-tweeting you or, nobody is following up what you’re doing...”

So, on the basis of the above, particularly as 2017 approach, I cease asking for likes, shares and comments.  One thing I am however, sure of is: When we get to eternity, you will remember that this blog MOTIVATED, INSPIRED AND EMPOWERED your journey to eternity where there shall be no need for your likes, shares, and comments because our MAIN BUSINESS shall be to like, share and comment (praise) the LAMB of God forever! Hallelujah!

Shalom!

THE SAINTS OF OLD SERIES - PROPHET DR. T.O. OBADARE (BIRTH, CALL & MINISTRY)

Introduction Ogo ni fun Olorun l’oke orun. Mo tun wi leekan si pe ogo ni fun Olorun l’oke orun. E jeki a gbadura (Glory be to God in heaven. And I say once again, glory be to God in heaven. Shall we pray?)[1] This slogan echoed over the Nigerian airwaves, especially in south-western Nigeria, for close to four decades. Each time it echoed, those who were familiar with it easily identified the voice of Apostle (Dr.) Timothy Oluwole Obadare, one of the indigenous prophets of the land, who was the General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) (Worldwide); the Executive Director of World Soul-Winning Evangelistic Ministry (WOSEM) and the President of the Interdenominational Ministers’ Association of Nigeria (IMA). Formerly of The Apostolic Church (TAC), he worked with the church for a period of four years, 1953 to 1957, before he was brought into the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) by Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola in 1957. Having joined the CAC, he ...

THE SAINTS OF OLD (NIGERIAN SERIES): PROPHET DR T. O. OBADARE - HOW HE WENT TO BE WITH THE LORD...

Apostle Timothy Oluwole Obadare went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2013 at the ripe age of 83. According to reports, he had been confined indoors for some years, but was said to have struggled to attend the March edition of the Koseunti Prayer meeting on March 1, 2013. He was brought to the church premises but could not come down from the car. When the news of his death came in, it dawned on the members that perhaps their leader had wanted to attend the meeting for the last time.[47] Apostle Timothy Obadare is survived by his wife, Elizabeth E. A. Obadare, six children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.      Governor Aregbesola being welcome to the burial ceremony by Mama Obadare & 2 sons Personal Qualities Many extolled the virtues of this great Apostle of Christ. Pastor Joseph Adegoroye, a former President of the CAC worldwide, while commenting on the establishment of the Koseunti monthy prayer meeting in 1985, said “Pr...

THE SAINTS OF OLD – PA S.G. ELTON (Part 1)

I have been trying (for over 3 months now) to do a research on the late Pa S.G. Elton, who is widely considered to be the father of Pentecostalism in Nigeria before featuring him on this platform. However, someone circulated this via What Sapp and I am using it as a platform to start a 3 part series on him. Enjoy the write up below. Your feedback and comments will be highly appreciated. Also feel free to send to  eternity.reminders@gmail.com  any useful article(s) in this regard.  Shalom! LOOKING BACKWARD: In order for us to understand the origin of the prosperity “gospel” and the present reign of mammon in the Church today, we cannot but talk about the man who almost single-handedly established the Pentecostal movement that led to the Pentecostal Churches of Nigeria today. Before then all we had were mostly the “orthodox” Churches with strong controls and hierarchy of the ministers. We did not have the “one-man” Churches of today. ALSO READ JO...
