I crave the indulgence of Eternity Reminders Blog readers today to flash back to close to 25 years ago (1995 to be specific) when the word ‘wobbling and fumbling’ entered the dictionary of Nigerian football. What brought about it? Nigeria’s u-20 team (a.k.a The Flying Eagles)   consisting a large percentage of the victorious Nigeria’s u-17 team (a.k.a Golden Eaglets) just 2 years back failed to fly against all expectations when Nigeria hosted the African u-20 Championship which was to serve as qualifiers for the u-20 world cup also scheduled to hold in Nigeria later that same year. The coach of the team (Fanny Amu – who coincidentally led the team to win the u-17 world cup 2 years earlier) consciously or unconsciously came up with the famous quote when being interviewed by journalists on the chances of his team to host and win the tournament, after a disastrous 3-3 draw with Mali in the opening match. I heard the word "PROMOTED TO GLORY" recently and I immediately became fascinated by it to the extent that I have made up my mind that I shall give instruction that it should put it on the cover programme of my burial programme Yes, MY BURIAL PROGRAMME! and any publication announcing my passing unto glory (not death, because believers don't 'die', we only change address) . Bros, are you ready to depart? Somebody will ask, and my emphatic answer to that question is NOT YET! But one day, I shall be promoted to glory, (as well as you reading this whether we like it or not). And I am excited at the prospect of being promoted to glory (in eternity with God forever, as I have always been - which is why this blog exists).
