WHO IS THE NEXT SAINT TO BE WELCOME HOME?

As I pick my pen to write this, I perceive in my spirit that the question above is likely to generate a passive interest in the community of believers who will come across this.  This is because very few believers today are concerned about 'going home'.  I will be glad to be proved wrong! I know thou knowest by heart the scripture “I shall not die but live to declare the glory of God”, I agree with you completely. Yes, it is written we shall not die young. Yes it is written the number of our days we shall fulfil. And I say amen to that and many such similar prayers.
However, each day we wake up, we should realize that two events often bring the greatest joy to heaven – translation of a soul from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of His dear Son to become a saint and translation (death) of a saint from this earth to heaven. But I have observed with disdain that most believers shy away from these two great events, (especially death of a saint) as if we will live here forever, forgetting the fact that this world is just a temporary home for us and we are just pilgrims passing by.  Our citizenship is in heaven. Heb. 4:13 says “We have no lasting city but we seek the one to come”.  Heb. 11:16 also says “they were longing for a better country, a heavenly one…” from these two scripture, I suppose believers should wake up excited every day and tell ourselves “this could be my day to come home. I am ready Lord!” As for me, this has become my daily heart cry. Nearer to thee oh Lord…

With all due respect to many of our fathers and mothers in the faith, I think there is HIGH NEED for more awareness in this regard. The subject of passing unto glory should not be reserved for only when someone passes on to glory in the church.  There should be a DELIBERATE AND CONSISTENT EFFORT to show case the beauty of heaven in such a way that saints, while they are busy occupying and fulfilling their God-given assignment, WILL always have it at the back of their minds and are excitedly looking forward being welcome back home at any point in time. Yes, we should not become EARTHLY USELESS while maintaining FOCUS on the things of heaven. Yes, we must ensure we leave our footprint in the sands of time. Yes, we must ensure we make impact and leave a worthwhile legacy while we are here  BUT ALL IS FOR A BRIEF TIME compared to eternity! WE SHOULD THEREFORE ALWAYS KEEP IN VIEW WHERE WE SHALL BE FOREVER IN ETERNITY WITH THE LORD.

To buttress this point, a brother said at a recent conference I attended that he analysed all the messages of his pastor over a 3-year period and all he could deduce is …? Your guess is as good as mine – how to possess your possession, how to be successful, how to be this and that. He didn’t for once hear ANY MESSAGE on discipleship, eternity, end-times, rapture, heaven, marriage supper of the lamb, tribulation period, etc. Is this not the story in so many of our churches today? IT IS A PITY THAT TOPICS LIKE THESE WHICH SHOULD BE 'RED OCEAN' ITEMS ARE MORE OR LESS LIKE A 'BLUE OCEAN' IN THE BODY OF CHRIST. As for me, I keep telling people that while it is great we don’t “forsake the assembly of believers”, it is our personal responsibility to ensure we get to our ‘spiritual Eldorado’, (Eph.4:12, Gal. 1:17).

Am I saying the mind of the Holy Spirit or have I just decided to be controversial today? So I ask again, "Who is the next saint to be welcome home? I will like to hear from you!

Shalom!

THE SAINTS OF OLD SERIES - PROPHET DR. T.O. OBADARE (BIRTH, CALL & MINISTRY)

Introduction Ogo ni fun Olorun l’oke orun. Mo tun wi leekan si pe ogo ni fun Olorun l’oke orun. E jeki a gbadura (Glory be to God in heaven. And I say once again, glory be to God in heaven. Shall we pray?)[1] This slogan echoed over the Nigerian airwaves, especially in south-western Nigeria, for close to four decades. Each time it echoed, those who were familiar with it easily identified the voice of Apostle (Dr.) Timothy Oluwole Obadare, one of the indigenous prophets of the land, who was the General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) (Worldwide); the Executive Director of World Soul-Winning Evangelistic Ministry (WOSEM) and the President of the Interdenominational Ministers’ Association of Nigeria (IMA). Formerly of The Apostolic Church (TAC), he worked with the church for a period of four years, 1953 to 1957, before he was brought into the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) by Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola in 1957. Having joined the CAC, he work

THE SAINTS OF OLD – PA S.G. ELTON (Part 1)

I have been trying (for over 3 months now) to do a research on the late Pa S.G. Elton, who is widely considered to be the father of Pentecostalism in Nigeria before featuring him on this platform. However, someone circulated this via What Sapp and I am using it as a platform to start a 3 part series on him. Enjoy the write up below. Your feedback and comments will be highly appreciated. Also feel free to send to  eternity.reminders@gmail.com  any useful article(s) in this regard.  Shalom! LOOKING BACKWARD: In order for us to understand the origin of the prosperity “gospel” and the present reign of mammon in the Church today, we cannot but talk about the man who almost single-handedly established the Pentecostal movement that led to the Pentecostal Churches of Nigeria today. Before then all we had were mostly the “orthodox” Churches with strong controls and hierarchy of the ministers. We did not have the “one-man” Churches of today. ALSO READ JOSEPH AYO BABAL

THE SAINTS OF OLD (NIGERIAN SERIES): PROPHET DR T. O. OBADARE - HOW HE WENT TO BE WITH THE LORD...

Apostle Timothy Oluwole Obadare went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2013 at the ripe age of 83. According to reports, he had been confined indoors for some years, but was said to have struggled to attend the March edition of the Koseunti Prayer meeting on March 1, 2013. He was brought to the church premises but could not come down from the car. When the news of his death came in, it dawned on the members that perhaps their leader had wanted to attend the meeting for the last time.[47] Apostle Timothy Obadare is survived by his wife, Elizabeth E.
