BEYOND THE MATTERS OF ETERNITY - A LOOK DOWN THE MEMORY LANE OF PAST WINNERS OF US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

 

While congratulating all our followers in America on their election of a new president for the United States of America, BEYOND THE MATTERS OF ETERNITY this week takes you down the memory OF PAST WINNERS OF US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS.

I love history and find this particularly INTERESTING. For instance, I never knew there was a time a President of the United states did 4 terms! A former governor of New York, "Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1940 won the election for his third term. Four years later in 1944, he ran again. He became the only president to be elected to a fourth term.  He also served as president of the United States for 4422 days, making him the longest serving president. He served from 1932-1944." 

BY THE WAY,  DONALD TRUMP'S VICTORY HAS PROVED ONCE AGAIN THAT GOD IS THE ONE THAT QUALIFIES THE UNQUALIFIED. HE THAT THINKS HE STAND SHOULD TAKE HEED LEST HE FALLS (1 Cor.10:12). NOBODY (NOT EVEN THE WORST OF SINNERS) SHOULD BE WRITTEN OFF, EVEN IN THE RACE TO ETERNITY...
"Donald Trump defied all expectations from the very start of his presidential campaign more than a year ago.

Very few people thought he would actually run. He did. They thought he wouldn't climb in the polls. He did. They said he wouldn't win any primaries. He did. They said he could never overcome resistance from the Republican establishment and win his party's nomination. He did.

Finally, they said there was no way he could compete for, let alone win, a general election matchup with Hillary Clinton. Now he's President-elect Trump."

Another interesting fact is that while the last president (Barack Obama) was the FIRST BLACK to be elected president, Mrs. Hillary Clinton would have been the FIRST FEMALE president, even as the family would also have gone down in history as the FIRST FAMILY (husband and wife) to have served as presidents.  By the way, I was already wondering what the husband would be called this time if the former FIRST LADY had won the presidency. FIRST MAN? FIRST GENTLEMAN? No need anymore as she lost gallantly, against all expectation.

While saints should keep praying for the democracy in our country (Nigeria) to grow and possibly surpass that of the United States (who we copied), it is important to use this medium to urge the saints of God to be open and receptive to the will of God, should He be leading them to go into politics to achieve divine agenda. We must REMAIN HEAVENLY FOCUSED AND RELEVANT BUT BE EARTHLY RELEVANT AND USEFUL in every sphere of life!
