INTRODUCING THE SAINTS OF OLD (NIGERIAN) SERIES PART 2 - HOW JOSEPH AYO BABALOLA SUCCEED IN MINISTRY DESPITE...

Joseph Ayo Babalola preaching in the 1930s

If Satan, the devil and fallen Lucifer, ever believes that he won God over the life and ministry of Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola of Christ Apostolic Church, when he programmed against him through his wife, then his foolishness and stupidity must have increased! The Bible says that if the kingdom of darkness had known the Wisdom of God, then they would not have crucified the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 2:8). The devil saw Jesus Christ preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, teaching the Word of God, healing the sick, casting out demons, and working miracles. Little did the devil know that those Acts of Jesus Christ were peanuts – they were not the main reason why He came. The Acts of Jesus Christ staggered satan’s mentality, and he said, “Before this Son of God takes over the world from me, let me kill Him.” And it was not until he killed the Lord Jesus Christ that he realized that He had to die to redeem the world; and this was the main reason why He came – to die for the world and shed His Blood for the salvation of mankind!

SIMILAR TO THIS IS PART 1 OF THIS SERIES. READ IT HERE:

The devil thought that by greatly troubling Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola with his wife, then the man would be frustrated and not fulfil his ministry. But we can only be frustrated if we do not put the Word of God first in our lives, keep our focus on the Lord Jesus Christ, and follow the Leading and Guidance of the Holy Spirit of the Living God. And when the devil greatly troubled John Wesley and Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola by their wives, they loved Jesus Christ, trusted in the Almighty God, and put their heart, mind, and energy to the Service of Jehovah our Father. We are going to see many things about the life and ministry of Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola. However, the intent of this post is not to glorify man: God alone deserves all the praise, glory, and honour. Also, our Ultimate Model is the Lord Jesus Christ; and the Bible is our standard. But, there are many good things that we can learn from the life and ministry of this man of God, who has long gone to glory in Heaven, as we follow God and His Holy Spirit in our individual ministries and areas of call.

Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola, for example, could pray for three days nonstop. After tarrying before the Lord in prayers, Apostle Babalola was once commanded by God to cut three leaves from a tree and put them on a rock before him; and God asked him to pray until the sweat from his body moved the leaves forward; and he carried out the task. According to a report, “…that was how he continued praying until he had prayed for seventy-two hours. He started praying around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and by the time he said a closing “In Jesus’ Name I pray”, it was Wednesday evening. The surprising thing is that, by the time the apostle finished praying, he apologized for prolonging the evening prayer a little longer and then told them to go and sleep. They all laughed at him and told him, ‘Sir, you have prayed for three days. We left you most of the time and have been going about our normal duties. Today is not Sunday but Wednesday. You have been standing on your feet praying for three days.’”

He could spend time on the mountain for many days with absolute fasting of neither water nor food (In fact, there was a time when he did 51 days marathon absolute fasting of no food or drink). In effect, it seems that Apostle Joseph Babalola was never hungry while fasting, having been fed supernaturally by the angel who accompanied Jesus Christ to visit him at the start of his ministry, on the seventh day of his initial God-commanded seven days’ fasting of no food no water. He had special grace for long dry fasting...To be continued.

THE SAINTS OF OLD SERIES - PROPHET DR. T.O. OBADARE (BIRTH, CALL & MINISTRY)

Introduction Ogo ni fun Olorun l’oke orun. Mo tun wi leekan si pe ogo ni fun Olorun l’oke orun. E jeki a gbadura (Glory be to God in heaven. And I say once again, glory be to God in heaven. Shall we pray?)[1] This slogan echoed over the Nigerian airwaves, especially in south-western Nigeria, for close to four decades. Each time it echoed, those who were familiar with it easily identified the voice of Apostle (Dr.) Timothy Oluwole Obadare, one of the indigenous prophets of the land, who was the General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) (Worldwide); the Executive Director of World Soul-Winning Evangelistic Ministry (WOSEM) and the President of the Interdenominational Ministers’ Association of Nigeria (IMA). Formerly of The Apostolic Church (TAC), he worked with the church for a period of four years, 1953 to 1957, before he was brought into the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) by Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola in 1957. Having joined the CAC, he work

THE SAINTS OF OLD – PA S.G. ELTON (Part 1)

I have been trying (for over 3 months now) to do a research on the late Pa S.G. Elton, who is widely considered to be the father of Pentecostalism in Nigeria before featuring him on this platform. However, someone circulated this via What Sapp and I am using it as a platform to start a 3 part series on him. Enjoy the write up below. Your feedback and comments will be highly appreciated. Also feel free to send to  eternity.reminders@gmail.com  any useful article(s) in this regard.  Shalom! LOOKING BACKWARD: In order for us to understand the origin of the prosperity “gospel” and the present reign of mammon in the Church today, we cannot but talk about the man who almost single-handedly established the Pentecostal movement that led to the Pentecostal Churches of Nigeria today. Before then all we had were mostly the “orthodox” Churches with strong controls and hierarchy of the ministers. We did not have the “one-man” Churches of today. ALSO READ JOSEPH AYO BABAL

THE SAINTS OF OLD (NIGERIAN SERIES): PROPHET DR T. O. OBADARE - HOW HE WENT TO BE WITH THE LORD...

Apostle Timothy Oluwole Obadare went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2013 at the ripe age of 83. According to reports, he had been confined indoors for some years, but was said to have struggled to attend the March edition of the Koseunti Prayer meeting on March 1, 2013. He was brought to the church premises but could not come down from the car. When the news of his death came in, it dawned on the members that perhaps their leader had wanted to attend the meeting for the last time.[47] Apostle Timothy Obadare is survived by his wife, Elizabeth E. A.
