BEYOND THE MATTERS OF ETERNITY - "Momodu: Are you well or sick?”

While this is not a political blog, it has become imperative to write this piece, at least for the sake of posterity and most importantly, for eternity sake. So Beyond The Matters of Eternity this week seek to offer a word of wisdom to our dear president, Mohammadu Buhari.

Firstly, the scripture says “...Supplications, prayers, intercession and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority…” (1 Tim. 2:1-2). So it is expedient that we all keep praying for our beloved president because in the words of Reno Omokri “When opposition becomes hatred or leads to a death wish, it stops being Godly and starts being satanic.”

The events of the last few weeks the president has been away should call for sober reflection by the President and his team  as it was an open secret that while some pray and wished him ‘speedy recover’ according to one of our musicians, it is a statement of fact that majority wished him dead and did not want him to return. Even the late former President (Musa Yar adua) did not receive this much 'death wish'. So what could be wrong?

As it is often said that the voice of the people is the voice of God, rather than just dismissing the WAILING WAILERS, the president and his team should do a thorough soul searching and ask themselves why majority of his countrymen (who were then HAILING HAILERS) hailing him as the messiah 2 years ago now wish him dead. Are people that callous and wicked to wish their president who supposedly went on medical vacation a journey of no return?

 
One must admit that while the permanent solutions to the nation’s many challenges may not lie with him, the president needs to do a lot more once he is declare fit enough to continue within the next one year to satisfy his conscience and his God. It is obvious to all and sundry that the nation is in her worst economic state ever in her 57 years history with no signs of ‘speedy recover’ (that word again) except one refuse to judge by sight.

While wishing the president ‘speedy recover’ and long life, I end this piece with another quote of admonition – “You can successfully write your own epitaph before you die. You can write it in the hearts of men. Whatever you write on the hearts of an individual person is what they will write about you when you are gone. To write indelibly in the hearts of men takes sacrifice. You’ve got a price to pay.”

A word is enough for the wise. And PMB, I want to believe is wise.

Apostle Timothy Oluwole Obadare went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2013 at the ripe age of 83. According to reports, he had been confined indoors for some years, but was said to have struggled to attend the March edition of the Koseunti Prayer meeting on March 1, 2013.
