I must confess that I was a little bit nervous and anxious on my first flight out of Lagos to Kaduna close to a decade ago. My heart was in my mouth as the aircraft took off from the run way before taxing into the sky.  When I was not actually fasting, I could not take anything – even the freebies offered on the flight until later that night when I got to my hotel. While I had become bolder after that first time out, I have a colleague in the office whose morbid fear of traveling by air has become legendary and who till date will never venture near an aircraft!
