MY OTHER SECRET ADDICTION...


I shared with readers a few weeks ago how God delivered me from pornography (read it here: http://goo.gl/EK7O3C).  However, that was the secret one. My other addiction, an open one, which also fetched me quite a few cash and materials is FOOTBALL. To the glory of God, I won a lot from writing articles to various media houses within and outside the country right from my tertiary institution days to as recent as 4-5 years ago.



I was an addicted lover of football to the extent that any services (in church) or other important occasions that clashed with any ‘important football’ event is a ‘no show’ for me. Am as good as being ABSENT! In fact, I remembered sometimes ago, I was actually watching football right inside the church office (secretly) while a service was going on! Such is the power of that football addiction over me. But not anymore! No matter how ‘important’ a football game is, the passion is no more there to the extent that I now even have the ‘audacity’ to even sleep when such games are on-going.

A recent example was the star match played over the weekend between my ‘darling blues’ and Man U. I had planned to watch the match which was scheduled for 4pm – a good time by all standards as church would have long closed and no evening fellowship for that time. However, I was working on a kingdom assignment but I was torn between leaving it to go and watch the match and coming back to complete it later. But the Holy Spirit compelled me to finish the work, which I did. I only watched the highlights of the match the next day. That demonstrated to me again that football addiction has no hold on me anymore! PRAISE THE LORD!

Apostle Timothy Oluwole Obadare went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2013 at the ripe age of 83. According to reports, he had been confined indoors for some years, but was said to have struggled to attend the March edition of the Koseunti Prayer meeting on March 1, 2013. He was brought to the church premises but could not come down from the car. When the news of his death came in, it dawned on the members that perhaps their leader had wanted to attend the meeting for the last time.[47] Apostle Timothy Obadare is survived by his wife, Elizabeth E. A.
