THIS IS WHAT SHOULD BE DONE WHEN I AM GONE HOME TO GLORY…WHAT ABOUT YOU?




Hearken unto me, o house of Jacob (Ayodele)…which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb: And even to YOUR OLD AGE I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I CARRY YOU: I have made, and I will bear, even I will carry, and will deliver you. (Isaiah 46:3-4)

There shall nothing cast their young…the number of thy days, I WILL FULFIL. (Exodus 23:26)

The Lagos State Government early this week announced that relatives of dead people should pick up their ‘deadi bobis’ (according to the legendary Afrobeat Musician, Fela) within 2 weeks or the government will be compelled to carry out mass burial. This is coming against the background of the one month lockdown occasioned by covid-19, which has obviously prevented relatives of the dead from burying the dead.

I got talking with someone and we came to the conclusion that majority of the people in this category will most likely be believers (Christians) who obviously want to conduct befitting burial ceremonies for their loved ones.  Pronto, this got me thinking, assuming my enemy is among the ‘deadi bobis’, would I have loved this scenario of being kept in a morgue and government threatening my family with mass burial arrangement? My spirit answered “NO” immediately and said “Of what use is a befitting earthly burial when heaven must have given me a more than befitting welcome party? No need sir!”

One of the things I appreciated about the people of the other faith is their low key way of burying the dead and this will be my preferred way. On the other hand, I dislike this so called “owanbe” parties and celebration of the dead in this part of the country. I see it as unnecessary waste of resources in a country where over 70% of the population are in poverty.  And the situation is even made worse as some people given lavish burial after death have often be deprived of ‘help’ in their hour of need before death. 


In the light of the above, I humbly request that there MUST BE NO “owanbe” party  for me but people must feel free to give BOUNTIFULLY at my memorial service in such a way that minimum of 10   privileged souls are impacted positively for the sake of ETERNITY. I am a BLESSING and shall continue to be even after going HOME.




And before someone asks “Bro, have you seen a vision God is calling you home?”  My emphatic response is capital NO. Interestingly, as I was rounding up this piece, I came across and listened to a very encouraging and equally powerful message from my Mummy GO today, which further strengthened my belief that I shall not die but live until I have fully fulfil God’s purpose in the land of the living. Watch it on Abundant Life Gospel Church Facebook page. This golden words kept ringing in my ear If you are USEFUL, you are PRESERVED. If you are USELESS, you are DISCARDED. I am still useful/shall remain useful to the kingdom of Christ by His grace and I trust the Lord to keep me till old age. So no shaking!

Apostle Timothy Oluwole Obadare went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2013 at the ripe age of 83. According to reports, he had been confined indoors for some years, but was said to have struggled to attend the March edition of the Koseunti Prayer meeting on March 1, 2013.
