WEEP NOT FOR PIUS!

Dying by plane crash can be a very terrible experience. While I always give extra thanks unto God each time I boarded that – some call it ‘coffin’ - and landed safely, I actually did ‘FASTING and PRAYER’ all through my first flight outside Lagos-Kaduna a decade ago. While I have become bolder since that first experience (l was relaxed all through my first international flight a few years ago), I have a colleague in the office whose morbid fear of travelling by air remain legendary because according to him, there is no hope if anything happen up there, preferring ALWAYS to go on official trip by road (!) except he had no choice at all.

 I have not had any cause to travel in recent times, either personal, official, international or local but I have become very fascinated with air travel in recent times to the extent that I have 'consumed' a lot of documentary in that regard, especially on plane crash investigations as well as survival stories to the extent of featuring a few of such on this blog. Two survival stories particularly struck and will stay with me till ETERNITY. So nothing should have moved me having seen and read a lot of such stories in recent times, but I almost shed tears reading the quote below (culled from the Guardian newspaper of 12 March, 2019) from the wife of Professor Pius Adesanmi, one of the 157 victims onboard the ill-fated Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737MAX that crashed close to the Addis Ababa airport last Sunday.

“As encomiums poured, a heartrending picture almost broke the internet, which showed the moment, Adesanmi’s wife, Muyiwa, broke the news of her father’s death to young Tise in their base in Canada.

The young Adesamni, holding a pen, stared on blankly at the portrait of his father’s picture, engraved on it his last post on Facebook: “If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost part of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me,”
Earlier in 2013, in a literary exercise, Adesanmi had wrote a draft epitaph for his future tombstone: “Here lies Pius Adesanmi, who tried as much as he could to put his talent in the service of humanity and flew away home one bright morning when his work was over.”  (Writing your EPITAPH is LIVING READY for ETERNITY - See mine here: https://goo.gl/Y8PUA0 Write yours today)
Just as I was about shedding tears, I heard the title of this piece in my heart WEEP NOT FOR PIUS ADESANMI! 

Yes, the incident is no doubt a huge loss not only to the family but Nigeria and indeed the world judging from the little I have read about Mr. Pius. I can boldly say heaven has gained a soul.
While I am not in the position of the Almighty God to determine the ETERNAL DESTINATION of anyone, I am fully persuaded Mr. Pius has finished his "work" and has indeed 'flew home' coincidentally on a beautiful Sunday morning to rest the manner of going notwithstanding.  WHICH FLIGHT WILL YOU TAKE TO ETERNITY - https://goo.gl/Drw1cc
