What Will You Do For Eternity Sake In 2016?

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

John 6:27

HAPPY NEW YEAR and congratulations for making it into 2016! Blessed be the name of the Lord who has kept us by His mercies and grace.  It is my prayer that He will never leave nor forsake us throughout 2016 because when our Father’s presence is with us, we have assurance that all shall be well!

It is a statement of fact that most believers have concluded on their plans as well as prayer list for 2016 but the question is what constitute things of ETERNAL VALUE AND SIGNIFICANCE on those plans and prayer lists? As the 2016 rat-race begins, it is important for every believer to ask the question above. This is because most believers always put the cart before the horse despite knowing by heart the popular scripture in Matthew 6:33 which says “Seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you”. Is our list not full of mundane things of temporary value like cars, houses, admission, contracts, promotions, to mention but a few?
But while these things are good and godly for for us to have they are things that are not transferable to eternity but will pass away (I John 2:17). As the old saying goes, “You can’t take them with you”. But things of ETERNAL VALUE AND SIGNIFICANCE are by definition, valuable forever. No wonder God doesn’t answer most of our prayers because they don’t align with His eternal purpose for our eternal destiny.

Your guess is as good as mine! But these are things that are not transferable to eternity but will pass away (I John 2:17). As the old saying goes, “You can’t take them with you”. But things of ETERNAL VALUE AND SIGNIFICANCE are by definition, valuable forever.

Do we have a prayer request like grace to love my neighbor as myself? Do we have a request like grace to pray for those believers who are being persecuted in some parts of our country and the world? Do we have a plan to reconcile others to God through sharing the good news of the gospel? Do we have a plan to give to the needy as God blesses us?  Our plans and prayer list for 2016 is NOT complete until we have incorporated into it things of ETERNAL VALUE AND SIGNIFICANCE. We shall be deceiving ourselves to say this will be easy but so is most desires we have penciled down for which we believe is POSSIBLE with God.

When we re-organize our lives around things of ETERNAL VALUE AND SIGNIFICANCE, we will find ourselves living according to God’s design and purpose for our lives and when our journey on this earth ends and we suddenly find ourselves in the realm of eternity, we will be very glad we invested in eternal values while we were here.  May God’s values and priorities increasingly become our values and priorities in 2016 and beyond.  GOD BLESS US ALL AS WE HAVE AN ETERNALLY FRUITFUL 2016!

THE SAINTS OF OLD SERIES - PROPHET DR. T.O. OBADARE (BIRTH, CALL & MINISTRY)

Introduction Ogo ni fun Olorun l’oke orun. Mo tun wi leekan si pe ogo ni fun Olorun l’oke orun. E jeki a gbadura (Glory be to God in heaven. And I say once again, glory be to God in heaven. Shall we pray?)[1] This slogan echoed over the Nigerian airwaves, especially in south-western Nigeria, for close to four decades. Each time it echoed, those who were familiar with it easily identified the voice of Apostle (Dr.) Timothy Oluwole Obadare, one of the indigenous prophets of the land, who was the General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) (Worldwide); the Executive Director of World Soul-Winning Evangelistic Ministry (WOSEM) and the President of the Interdenominational Ministers’ Association of Nigeria (IMA). Formerly of The Apostolic Church (TAC), he worked with the church for a period of four years, 1953 to 1957, before he was brought into the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) by Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola in 1957. Having joined the CAC, he ...

THE SAINTS OF OLD (NIGERIAN SERIES): PROPHET DR T. O. OBADARE - HOW HE WENT TO BE WITH THE LORD...

Apostle Timothy Oluwole Obadare went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2013 at the ripe age of 83. According to reports, he had been confined indoors for some years, but was said to have struggled to attend the March edition of the Koseunti Prayer meeting on March 1, 2013. He was brought to the church premises but could not come down from the car. When the news of his death came in, it dawned on the members that perhaps their leader had wanted to attend the meeting for the last time.[47] Apostle Timothy Obadare is survived by his wife, Elizabeth E. A. Obadare, six children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.      Governor Aregbesola being welcome to the burial ceremony by Mama Obadare & 2 sons Personal Qualities Many extolled the virtues of this great Apostle of Christ. THE SAINTS OF OLD – PA S.G. ELTON (Part 1)

I have been trying (for over 3 months now) to do a research on the late Pa S.G. Elton, who is widely considered to be the father of Pentecostalism in Nigeria before featuring him on this platform. However, someone circulated this via What Sapp and I am using it as a platform to start a 3 part series on him. Enjoy the write up below. Your feedback and comments will be highly appreciated. Also feel free to send to  eternity.reminders@gmail.com  any useful article(s) in this regard.  Shalom! LOOKING BACKWARD: In order for us to understand the origin of the prosperity “gospel” and the present reign of mammon in the Church today, we cannot but talk about the man who almost single-handedly established the Pentecostal movement that led to the Pentecostal Churches of Nigeria today. Before then all we had were mostly the “orthodox” Churches with strong controls and hierarchy of the ministers. We did not have the “one-man” Churches of today. ALSO READ JO...
